The Bruce County Home Child Care Program (HCC) is a program that is licensed under the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA) and provides quality child care in a home setting.

The Child Activity Assistance Program (CAAP) is a fund available for families with a gross income of less than $30,000.00 to assists families with the cost of non-sporting activities.
Child Care Fee Subsidy provides financial assistance to eligible families for children in their care attending a Licensed Child Care Program or an Approved Bruce County Home Child Care Provider.

The Dietary Manager and Registered Dietitian prepare menus that meet the nutritional requirements for the residents. The four week menu cycle allows us to accommodate food preferences of the residents as much as possible, with choices offered. Weekly and monthly menus are displayed in each of the dining rooms. We provide Registered Dietitian services for nutritional monitoring and risk assessment of residents.
Discretionary Benefits are provided to recipients of Ontario Works and Ontario Disability Support Plan who require financial assistance to purchase health related items

Bruce County’s Early Learning Coordinator engages, mentors, and supports Educators in the Child Care and Early Learning Community. This capacity role supports the implementation of the annual Quality Scan Tool (QST) and the monthly Child Care Partner Support Team Meetings (CCPST). In collaboration with Children’s Service Team, the Early Learning Coordinator coordinates professional learning events and opportunities for the Early Learning Community within Bruce County. These opportunities assist Educators to align and enhance the quality of their program(s) and aids in building capacity within Bruce County.

There are two Long Term Care Homes proudly operated by Bruce County — Gateway Haven located in Wiarton, Ontario and Brucelea Haven of Walkerton, Ontario. These homes provide quality services to the residents and their families.
Beginning in January 2016, Bruce County became both the lead and intake agency for the Westario Power Low-Income Energy Assistance Program Emergency Financial Assistance (LEAP EFA). The Westario Power LEAP EFA is a grant program designed to help low-income customers who find themselves in need of assistance with arrears owed to Westario Power.

The Ontario Energy Board (OEB) launched the Ontario Electricity Support Program (OESP) in January 2016. This program provides an on-bill reduction for eligible customers.

The Level of Service for Winter Maintenance on County Roads has a major impact on the economy and quality of life for County residents.
