Bruce County Council

  • Council received a letter from Honourable Lisa Thompson regarding the Increasing Dead Stock Capacity Initiative. Communication
  • Council received communications from the Ministry of Infrastructure regarding Red Tape Reduction for Designated Broadband Projects. Communication
  • Council heard a delegation from Nuclear Innovation Institute (Chad Richards, Director Policy and Partnerships) regarding the Clean Energy Frontier Program. Delegation
  • Council heard a delegation update from Western Ontario Wardens Caucus (Kate Gallagher, Executive Director). Delegation
  • Council held a Public Meeting to provide a review of the Development Charges proposal and to receive public input on the proposed policies and charges. Bruce County's Development Charges Consultant, Watson & Associates Economists Ltd, presented their report with recommended charges. Report

Planning & Development Committee

  • Committee approved the Draft Plan of Subdivision S-2022-015 (Tidman), subject to the Conditions of Draft Approval and Draft Plan. Report

Human Services Committee

  • Committee approved the expenditure of the Home Repair Revolving reserve funds of the Ontario Renovates revolving fund up to a limit of $90,000. Report
  • Committee received a report on Exploring Options & Opportunities for Home-Sharing in Bruce County. Report

Transportation & Environmental Services Committee

  • Committee approved that the ownership of Concession 7 Road between Sideroad 30 South and Bruce Road 1 be transferred to the Municipality of Kincardine and that a by-law be created to enable the transfer. Report
  • Committee approved that a by-law be introduced to establish and assume Bruce Road 6 East from Bismark Street North to Grey Road 10, in the Municipality of South Bruce, as a public highway under the jurisdiction of Bruce County. Report

Executive Committee

  • Committee approved support for the Grey Bruce Health Services Addictions and Mental Health Wellness and Treatment Centre by contributing $500,000 to the project over a five-year period. Committee directed Staff to include the contribution in the 2024 to 2028 Budget and Forecast. The Committee also directed Staff to return with recommendations to create a special levy to support healthcare capital expenditures. Report
  • Committee approved the Community Development Office and directed staff to explore potential long-term funding opportunities. Report
  • Committee received the Q2 2023 Business Plan Update. Report
  • Committee received an update on the Bruce County Indigenous Reconciliation Planning Initiative. Report

Corporate Services Committee

  • Committee received the 2021 Annual Energy Consumption and Greenhouse Gas Emissions Report. Report
  • Committee received the 2024-2028 Budget Preliminary Presentation. Report

Information Technology Services Committee

  • Committee approved to have the County enter a ride-sharing system partnership with Bruce Power through contract for services with the RideShark corporation. Year 1 costs of $38,000 paid by Bruce Power, year 2 and onward operating costs of $16,000 funded at 50% by each party and that this be represented in the Transportation and Environmental Services budget effective September 2024 forward. Human Resources Committee

  • Committee received the 2023 Non-Union Salary Market Review. Report

Museum Committee

  • Committee approved deaccession from the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre’s collection the items listed in the “Archival Items Recommended for Deaccession September 2023”. Report
  • Committee approved funding of $37,894.85 plus HST, and any minor adjustments that have not yet been identified, to complete the Detailed Component Requirements and Implementation Plan for the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre, financed from the Tax Stabilization Reserve (TSR). Report
  • Committee received the September 2023 Museum Report. Report
