Bruce County Announces Christine MacDonald As New CAO

Bruce County is pleased to announce the appointment of Christine MacDonald as the new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), effective December 16, 2023.

Bruce County is pleased to announce the appointment of Christine MacDonald as the new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), effective December 16, 2023.

Christine MacDonald is currently Bruce County’s Deputy Chief Administrative Officer and has previously served as the County’s Interim CAO and Director of Human Services. Through her various County roles, she has showcased experienced leadership in government and the planning, delivery, and advocacy of responsive, high-quality services for residents, businesses, and visitors. She is skilled in strategic planning, policy analysis, good governance, and fiscal sustainability. Christine first joined the County in 2007 and has deep roots in Bruce County and the region.

Warden Chris Peabody says, “On behalf of Council and the residents of Bruce County, I would like to congratulate Christine MacDonald on her appointment as Bruce County’s new Chief Administrative Officer. Christine brings extensive municipal management experience and has demonstrated a leadership style that fosters community development, support, and engagement. Council and I look forward to continuing to work with Christine as we move forward with good governance and fiscal stability.”

Christine will continue to work with retiring CAO Derrick Thomson to ensure a smooth transition and successful budget planning.

Christine says, “I am excited for this appointment to serve the residents of Bruce County and I look forward to continued work with Council and Staff to foster innovation and sustainable growth in supporting our thriving communities.”
