Bruce County Council Meeting

  • Council received communications from Enbridge on Notice of Study for Battery Energy Storage Project. Communication
  • Council received communications about a Brockton Resolution on Durham Street Pedestrian Safety. Communication
  • Council received communications about an Arran-Elderslie Resolution on Safe & Inclusive Community. Communication
  • Council appointed Councillor Jay Kirkland to fill the vacancy on the Bruce County Public Library Board. Report
  • Council approved a by-law to regulate the use of lands known as 'The ‘Bruce County Rail Trail’ and ‘County Forests’. By-law

Museum Committee

  • Committee received the October 2023 Archives Report. Report
  • Committee received the October 2023 Museum Update. Report

Corporate Services Committee

  • Committee deferred decision on the Development Charges Background Study and draft Development Charges By-law to a future meeting. Report
  • Committee approved that the funding of the Bruce County Health Care Reserve Fund be set at 0.5% of levy annually and directed staff to develop a Health Care Reserve Fund policy which identifies eligibility criteria, timelines, and standards for implementation, as well recommend any necessary updates to By-law 3710. Report

Human Services Committee

  • Committee received a report on the Canada Ontario Community Housing Initiative and Ontario Priority Housing Initiative Transfer Payment Agreement & Investment Plan. Report

Paramedic Services Committee

  • Committee approved the 2024 Canadian Triage Acuity Scale (CTAS) Response Time Performance Plan Report. The report will be submitted to the Ministry of Health on or before October 31, 2023. Report
  • Committee received an update on the Port Elgin Paramedic Station Build. Report

Long Term Care Homes Committee of Management

  • Committee received the August and September 2023 Long Term Care Update Report. Report

Executive Committee

  • Committee directed staff to prepare a response to the Minister of Municipal Affairs that shares the top 5 recommendations identified by County Staff and the County’s willingness to engage the Ministry in support of addressing the Housing Crisis, as it relates to the MMAH Priorities from Provincial Housing Affordability Task Force Report. Council directed the Clerk to circulate this report to municipal CAOs and Clerks in Bruce County. Report
