New Nursing Technology at Bruce County Long Term Care Homes

On Wednesday, November 8, Warden Chris Peabody visited Bruce County’s Gateway Haven Long Term Care Home in Wiarton for a tour and new technology demonstration. Gateway Haven Staff showcased new nursing technology from Jubo, called VitalLink, that works with the home’s electronic health record systems. VitalLink automates the vital sign monitoring process using Bluetooth-enabled devices that instantly record vital sign measurements and securely sync into the electronic health record. This technology provides enhanced data quality and compliance, improves clinical outcomes, improves workflows, and eliminates paperwork. Both of Bruce County’s long term care homes, Gateway Haven and Brucelea Haven, have now implemented the VitalLink software. 

This new nursing technology was funded by the Ministry of Long-Term Care, Medication Safety Technology program, which provides supplementary funding to long term care homes to strengthen the safety and security of medication management systems.
