UPDATE: Temporary Daytime Closures on Paisley Bridge for Final Restoration Work

Please take notice that there will be temporary daytime closures on the Paisley Bridge from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM from November 13 to November 17, 2023, to facilitate final restoration work. The temporary bridge and detour will be available for use during the daily road closures. There may also be temporary lane closures from November 20 to November 24, 2023 to complete minor works while the bridge will be open to vehicular and pedestrian use.

Please take notice that there will be temporary daytime closures on the Paisley Bridge from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM from November 13 to November 17, 2023, to facilitate final restoration work. The temporary bridge and detour will be available for use during the daily road closures. There may also be temporary lane closures from November 20 to November 24, 2023 to complete minor works while the bridge will be open to vehicular and pedestrian use. The new sidewalk on the bridge will be closed to pedestrian use from November 3 to November 17, 2023. The temporary bridge, which successfully served as an in-town detour for motorists and pedestrians, will be removed later in November 2023 once the remaining work is completed.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we finalize this important infrastructure work in Bruce County. Motorists can continue to drive to and through Paisley while bridge construction is being completed. Paisley businesses are open.

Semi-trucks, tractor trailers, and agricultural equipment are asked to continue following the identified Alternate Truck Routes until the Paisley Bridge has officially opened. View the Alternate Truck Route Map at http://www.brucecounty.on.ca/paisleybridge

Projected Timeline

  • New Bridge Opening to Traffic – November 3, 2023 at 2:30 PM
  • New Infrastructure Construction North of New Bridge – Completed by November 3, 2023
  • Temporary Bridge Removal – Starting November 2023
  • Top Lift Paving – Occurring in the Summer of 2024

The Teeswater River Bridge in Paisley was constructed in 1935 and provided over 85 years of service to the community. Looby Construction Ltd. is the contractor for this construction project and BM Ross is the Project Engineer. Partial funding for this project is provided by the Canada Community Building Fund (CCBF).
