The Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre is thrilled to announce the launch of a series of digitized exhibits, coinciding with the 10th anniversary of International MuseumWeek (June 5-11), celebrating a decade of honoring museums worldwide.

The BCM&CC is proud to offer a virtual journey through past exhibits, showcasing the diverse cultural heritage of Bruce County and extending this history beyond geographical boundaries.

Work to make these exhibits available online was made possible by local Saugeen District Senior School student Grace McGillivray. As part of the co-operative education placement, Grace, under the guidance of Exhibition Designer, Chris Irvine, created the newly digitized exhibits including Made in Bruce, Farm Fresh, Open Doorways, and River Mouth Speaks.

Visitors to the Museum’s website brucemuseum.ca can now delve further into past exhibits online to witness the pioneering spirit of Bruce County's settlers, see the impact of Indigenous culture, marvel at the evolution of local industries and innovations, and gain a deeper understanding of our shared heritage.

“Through the power of digital technology, this project brings the museum experience directly to the homes and screens of our online visitors,” says BCM&CC Director Cathy McGirr.

Work to expand our virtual exhibits on the Bruce Museum website is ongoing and represents the Museum’s ongoing commitment to engaging underserved audiences and connecting people through storytelling, not just with in-person experiences, but also through digital outreach.
