Planning & Development Committee:

  • After a Public Meeting, Committee approved Consent Application B-2022-087 (Boat Lake co Gibbons). Report
  • After a Public Meeting, Committee approved Consent Application B-2022-069 (Barrys). Report
  • Committee approved the Bruce County Growth Management Official Plan Amendment C-2022-012 Resolution. Report
  • Committee approved the circulation of the Summary of Bill 23, the More Homes Built Faster Act, 2022 and Additional Provincial Planning Consultation. Report
  • Committee received a report on the Stratford Bruce Peninsula Employment Services System Manager (SSM). Report
  • Committee received a report on an Economic Development Lead Generation Opportunity. Report

Transportation & Environmental Services Committee:

  • Committee approved the sole source purchase of a used forklift with use of up to $16,000 from Machinery and Equipment Reserve Funds. Report
  • Committee approved, in advance of final 2023 capital budget approval, to tender and purchase 1 tandem axle cab and chassis snowplow, 2 half ton pick-up trucks, and 1 one ton pick-up truck consistent with the vehicle replacement schedule. The Committee also approved, in advance of final 2023 capital budget approval, to coincide our construction start of the pedestrian crossing work with Brockton’s Yonge Steet construction project.   • Committee approved to amend the 2022 budget to include funding the Bruce Rd 6A East Capital Project with $900,000 from the multi-year Bruce Rd 25 Improvements Project. Report
  • Committee received a report on the Proposed Pedestrian Crosswalks on Rd 2 and Rd 4 in Walkerton. Report

Human Services Committee:

  • Committee approved updates to the Bruce County Licensed Home Child Care Program Rates and Policy. Report

Bruce County Housing Corporation:

  • Committee approved that Kenneth Craig, Mark Goetz, Garry Michi, and Donald Murray be elected Directors of the Bruce County Housing Corporation, along with Directors Luke Charbonneau, Steve Hammell, Milt McIver, and Chris Peabody, to hold office until the completion of the next Annual Meeting of the Voting Shareholder of the Corporation or until their successor is duly elected subject to the provisions of the by-laws of the Corporation and the provisions of the Business Corporations Act (Ontario). Report
  • Committee approved the election of the following persons as Officers of the Bruce County Housing Corporation to hold the office until the next Annual Meeting of the Voting Shareholders or until their respective successors shall be elected and appointed: Mark Goetz (President/CEO and Chair of the Board), Chris Peabody (Vice President), Edward Henley (Treasurer), Linda White (Secretary), Christine MacDonald (Officer), Tania Dickson (Officer), and Devon Gordon (Officer).   • Committee approved that the rent for Bruce County Housing Corporation Community Housing units be increased by the Ontario 2023 Rent Increase Guideline of 2.5% or as otherwise indicated in the Bruce County Housing Corporation’s Market Rent Increase April 1, 2023. The Committee also approved that rent geared to income assistance be provided immediately for all tenants that qualify. Report
  • Committee authorized the Bruce County Housing Corporation to write-off $34,371.38 for bad debt for the year ending December 31, 2022. Report
  • Committee received a report on Q3 2022 Arrears. Report

Human Resources Committee: 

  • Committee appointed individuals to the Bruce County Library Board for the 2023-2026 term.
  • Committee approved a Memorandum of Settlement between Bruce County and Ontario Nurses’ Association (ONA) members at Brucelea Haven and Gateway Haven.
  • Committee approved a Memorandum of Settlement between Bruce County, Brucelea Haven, Gateway Haven, and UNIFOR Local 2458.
