Waste Management Programs - Saugeen Shores

Recycling Information:  Curbside blue box recycling collection occurs throughout the Town of Saugeen Shores. Blue box recycling depots are also available at the Southampton landfill site. Cardboard is not collected through the curbside services and can be placed at the recycling depots located: Port Elgin Sewage Treatment Plant (815 Lehnen St); Public Works Garage (339 Conc. 6); Southampton Landfill Site (126, Conc 14).

Electronic Waste Information:  Electronic items are accepted for recycling at the Southampton landfill site at No Cost. Accepted Materials: Audio & Video Players and Recorders, Cameras, Cell Phones, Computers, Copiers, Fax Machines. Monitors, Pagers, Printers, Radios, Receivers, Scanners, Speakers, Telephones, Televisions, Video Projectors.

Tire Information:  Residents can drop off tires at the Southampton landfill site free of charge (a quantity restriction of 4 tires/visit may be in place). Tires with rims will have an associated fee.

Battery Information:  Household batteries can be dropped off at the Town Office, Southampton & Port Elgin Public Libraries and the Southampton landfill site. Accepted batteries include: Single - use batteries (AAAs, AAs, 9-volts, D's & C's), Lithium batteries, and Button cell batteries.
