You Are Welcome Here!

Ontario Early Years Centres (OEYC) support your parenting/caregiving journey and nurture the healthy development of children from newborn to 6 years of age. We are with you every step of the way! The OEYC offers new baby support, parenting information, resources on pregnancy, parenting and child development, and information and linkages to other programs and services in the area. All programs encourage health and wellness of children and families by offering accessible, responsive programs in multiple locations throughout Bruce County and providing community resources and information on specialized services to support all parents and caregivers in their roles.

Learning Together!

The quality programs offered at Bruce County OEYC locations allow children the opportunity to learn through exploration and discovery based play. Our Registered Early Childhood Education team develops and implements programs based on the four foundations of the Ministry of Education’s ‘How Does Learning Happen?’ document which offers a co-learning approach based on the interests of the children, family, educators, and the community. There are opportunities for families to engage in meaningful, active, creative learning experiences that support making connections and relationship building to instill a sense of belonging. The programs nurture healthy development, enhance well-being and foster communication and expression in all forms. The OEYC team works together to reflect on their practices and provide photographs and learning stories (pedagogical documentation) to make the learning visible to all participants. Parents and caregivers have an open invitation to contribute their own thoughts and ideas to extend the learning experience.

Do you have Parenting/Childcare Questions?

We are happy to take your call! We can provide support over the phone, by email, or visit us at one of our many Bruce County locations. We can support you in finding the answers to your caregiving questions.

Getting Involved In Our Community!

The Ontario Early Years Centre has partnerships with the Bruce Grey Catholic District School Board, the Bluewater District School Board and a variety of community agencies and services that are all working together to support you and your children as they grow. The OEYC team partners with schools to offer a special event in Bruce County Schools called ‘I’m Going to Kindergarten’. This spring program is for children who will be attending Kindergarten for the first time! Watch for your invitation from the school where your child is registered.

The Bruce County OEYC Team collaborates with the Bruce County Early Learning Coordinator (ELC), Preschool Resource Team (PRT), and Childcare Case Worker (CCW) Team to offer Community of Practice sessions throughout the county to enhance quality programming in the Childcare and Early Years Community. Bruce County Early Years teams connect quarterly with colleagues to share program-based ideas, including environment and resources. Each session provides an opportunity for supportive networking as we continue the journey to move from a theme based approach to an inquiry-based framework. Community of Practice also serves as an opportunity for networking and building relationships amongst Childcare Centre Team members, OEYC, ELC, PRT, and CCW’s.
