Family Support

Resources available to assist with pursuing child and/or spousal support.

A Family Support Worker is available to assist individuals in pursuing child and/or spousal support.  Although it is not a requirement of social assistance to pursue child support, the Family Support Worker will provide guidance and be a resource for an individual as they pursue child support.

Child support payments are exempt as income under the Ontario Works program.  Spousal support is considered income under the Ontario Works program and as a condition of eligibility all persons must be willing to pursue spousal support.

The Family Support Worker is available to guide and support a person as they pursue spousal support.
