Outbreak at Gateway Haven

Effective January 3, 2019, Public Health declared Gateway Haven to be in Confirmed Outbreak due to Upper Respiratory Illness on all four Resident Home Areas.

If you must visit, we ask that you:

  1. Only visit one resident.
  2. Practice good hand hygiene before entering and after exiting the building, the resident home area and the resident’s room
  3. Wear the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided, at the resident room, including gown, mask and gloves if visiting a resident in isolation.

NOTE: If you are unwell, we ask that you refrain from visiting until you are well.

Volunteers and non-essential service providers have been notified of the outbreak and will resume their duties when Public Health declares the outbreak over.

Meetings such as Family Council will be postponed until a later date.

We will notify you when Public Health declares Gateway Haven out of Outbreak.

We have made every effort to inform resident contacts but please feel free to pass this information along to anyone you feel needs to know.
