Chesley Main Street Bridge closed indefinitely - Update as of 4pm on Bridge Flooding

Bruce County Transportation and Environmental Services continues to monitor all roads and bridges under its’ jurisdiction for flooding and structural integrity.

Bruce County Transportation and Environmental Services continues to monitor all roads and bridges under its’ jurisdiction for flooding and structural integrity.

 

As of 4:00pm, in order to ensure public safety pedestrian traffic is prohibited on the Chesley Main Street Bridge until further notice due to significant damage to the supporting piers.  The Chesley Main Street Bridge located on Bruce Road 30 (1st Ave) in Chesley remains closed indefinitely.

 

There have been no significant changes to the status of the high water levels and ice jams.  The Teeswater River Bridge on Bruce Road 3 in Paisley will continue to be monitored.  As previously reported Bruce Road 1 from Duke Street to Wellington Street in the village of Paisley remains closed due to flooding.

Please exercise caution when traveling over roadways, bridges and culverts.
