Bruce County's Oswald Bridge, Chesley

The Oswald Bridge (formerly Chesley Main Street Bridge), located on 1st Avenue (Bruce Road 30) in Chesley, will open on Friday, June 14, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. to all traffic.

The former Chesley Main Street Bridge closed February 21, 2018 as a result of structural damage sustained during a flooding event.  Construction of the new single span concrete bridge commenced in June 2018.

The bridge will require occasional lane restrictions in the following two weeks to allow for streetlight installation and restoration work.  The bridge will remain open permanently apart from these lane closures.

An official grand opening celebration for the Oswald Bridge will take place in the near future.

Bruce County extends sincere thanks to the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie and the residents and business owners in Chesley for their patience and support.
