The Housing Facilities division is responsible for the day-to-day operations and capital asset management of 38 building locations across Bruce County.

Housing Facilities

Bruce County Housing Corporation is responsible for managing all Bruce County Housing Corporation properties.

Approximately 700 residential units are located at over 30 sites throughout the County, from Lucknow to Tobermory.

We ensure compliance with all legislation requirements pertaining to managing our facilities including: 

electrical, plumbing, masonry, flooring, painting, life safety systems, lighting, heating and cooling, elevators, structural, cleaning, landscaping, and snow removal.

Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM

Housing Facility requests can be reported via the Bruce County Tenant Portal, email, or phone. We aim to investigate all reports and requests within the next business day.

For Medical, Fire, or Crime Emergencies, please call 911.

Housing Facility Emergencies include: no water, no heat, no power in the unit, and broken water pipes.

 

Housing FAQ

To be eligible you must:

  • Be a Canadian Citizen, Landed Immigrant, or have Refugee Claimant Status and have no deportation order.
  • Have at least one person in your household who is 16 years or older.
  • Not owe rent arrears or damages to any social housing provider or have misrepresented your household income.
  • If you own a house, you must agree to put it up for sale upon offer to lease and sell within six months

Applications are placed on the waitlist by the application date. When a unit becomes available it will be offered to the first person on the waitlist. However, women and their families, who have experienced domestic violence are given special priority status.
